Bold and the Beautiful: Finn Rips Apart Thomas

Finn Rips Apart Thomas

Bold and the Beautiful highlights Finn‘s lack of enthusiasm for Thomas Forrester this week despite his in-laws seeing his brother-in-law as a changed man on the CBS soap.

During his talk with Hope Logan, John Finnegan made it clear that he’s not completely sold on the transformation of his wife’s brother. Plus Finn sees the need to share this with the Logan daughter who’s infatuated with Thomas.

Bold and the Beautiful: Finn Describes Thomas Forrester as ‘Svengali’

Finn diplomatically pointed out that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) has a tumultuous past. Then what John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) said next, had many people looking for the definition of “Svengali.”

In a recent Bold and the Beautiful episode, Finn told Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) that his brother-in-law is somewhat of a Svengali. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary describes Svengali as “a person who manipulates or exerts excessive control over another.”

This name comes from a novel written in 1894 – titled Trilby. In the novel, a character named Svengali is the villain of the story. As a sinister musician and hypnotist, Svengali transforms the female character in the novel, Trilby, into a singing star. But he controlled and used her as well.

The literary world became so impressed with this character’s power of persuasion that the term Svengali was born. It is still used today to describe someone deviously manipulative. And this is how Finn carefully described Thomas Forrester this week on Bold and Beautiful.

B&B Spoilers: Thomas Demonstrates Svengali-Like Behavior

Before Thomas changed his life around, the Svengali description fit him well. But there are still signs today on Bold and the Beautiful that his manipulative ways haven’t left him altogether.

Thomas Forrester constantly repeats the same words over and over again to Hope. He makes sure to hammer home to her that she deserves a man who loves only her. Thomas also makes sure that she sees him as that man.

Bold and the Beautiful fans comment on the overwhelming number of times Thomas Forrester reminds Hope about this. So, maybe she starts to see some validity in what Finn said.

So, this word uttered by John Finnegan sent many scrambling to look for the definition of “Svengali.” But it is a fairly nasty way to describe someone, as Finn did when talking about Thomas Forrester.

Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Finn Drives It Home for Hope Logan

While Hope listened to Finn talk about Thomas, she rolled her eyes. Then she made a few facial expressions that seemed to suggest she was tired of hearing about the dark side of the Forrester son.

But then it appeared as if something sank in for her. That’s because she brought this conversation to her mother, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang).

Of course, Brooke agrees with Finn’s diagnosis as she sits and talks to her daughter on Bold and the Beautiful this week. Finn believes that Hope doesn’t love Thomas but instead, her draw to him is purely because he wants no other woman but her.

So, will Hope Logan act on Finn’s analysis of her love affair with Thomas? It looks as if she might find a new infatuation for herself. Now that the two become thrust together over their parents’ engagement, she may fixate on Finn.

It’s possible Thomas Forrester may see Finn as his competition soon. But fans seem to agree, that John Finnegan is a one-woman man. And that woman for him is his wife on the CBS soap.
